The New European Bauhaus Facility 2025-2027 is a new and unique funding tool of the New European Bauhaus (NEB).
The NEB Facility aims to revitalise neighbourhoods through design for sustainability and inclusion. As a multi-annual funding tool from 2025 to 2027, the NEB Facility is anchored in the EU’s Research and Innovation programme Horizon Europe. It is financed through this programme as well as other programmes and funds from the EU budget. The Facility supports projects from research and innovation (R&I) to deployment under two components. Through its R&I component, which has a total budget of €118,4 million the NEB Facility will focus on three major R&I themes:
- Connecting the green transformation, social inclusion, and local democracy (4 priorities)
- Circular and regenerative approaches for the built environment (4 priorities)
- Innovative funding and new business models for the transformation of neighbourhoods (3 priorities)
Deadline for applications: 12 November, 5 CET (Brussels times)
For the R&I component, first funding opportunities are accessible through the Horizon Europe “main” Work Programme 2025, where the NEB Facility is highlighted as a cross-cluster issue through a new, dedicated Work Programme part. The calls are accessible through the EU Funding & Tenders Portal and via the NEB Funding page.
A detailed analysis of the NEB Facility’s conceptual framework, governance structures and budget requirements is included in the NEB Facility Roadmap, published by the European Commission to support the implementation of the new funding mechanism in member-states and countries associated to Horizon Europe.
