The Organisation for European Programmes and Cultural Relations, as the operator of the “Creative Europe” and “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV)” Cyprus Desks, actively participated in the interactive workshop “Healthy Empowerment of Youth“, which took place on 7 July 2025, in Pervolia, Larnaca, in collaboration with Youth Dynamics. The aim of the workshop was to raise awareness among young people about the benefits of exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
The workshop was attended by 50 participants from Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Hungary, Greece, Italy, Romania, Slovenia and Ukraine. The participants were mainly young people aged 18-35 years old, who are active as volunteers, youth workers and youth or adult trainers. Among the participants, there were representatives of cultural and civil society organisations.
The workshop included an extensive presentation of the funding opportunities offered by the Creative Europe and Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) EU programme,s as well as the mobility and networking opportunities offered to young people through the Culture Moves Europe scheme. Through the presentations, participants enriched their knowledge of the EU’s contribution to enhancing European cultural and linguistic diversity and heritage, increasing the capacity of cultural and creative sectors’ professionals, promoting EU values and fundamental rights and combatting all forms of discrimination.
The workshop also included interactive and awareness-raising activities on the multiple benefits of physical activity as well as networking activities, promoting intercultural cooperation, EU citizenship and active participation in democratic life among young people from different countries of the European Union.
Following the completion of the workshop, which was implemented in the framework of the Erasmus+ KA1 European Youth Mobility programme, participants had the opportunity to network and exchange views on European issues at a lunch provided by the Organisation for European Programmes and Cultural Relations (OEPCR).
The success of the event is proof of the importance of such initiatives, which contribute to intercultural networking and cooperation among EU citizens and to the promotion of health, culture and EU values.
